'WHEN I FOUND MYSELF HOOKED UP TO A MACHINE TO HELP ME BREATHE I KNEW I HAD TO DEAL WITH THE STRESS IN MY LIFE OR IT WAS GOING TO DEAL WITH ME. AND SO I MADE A DECISION...

DEALING WITH STRESS
We support people to deal with stress so they can remember the best parts of themselves, feel happier and live long, fulfilling and healthy lives.
THE KEY TO FEELING CALMER IS HOW WE USE OUR BREATH
The pace of our breath controls the nerve that determines whether the nervous system is in a state of ‘fight and flight’ or ‘rest and digest’. In other words, whether we feel anxious and stressed or calm and peaceful.
This means that when we are nervous, angry or stressed our breathing becomes shallow, which puts the whole body into a state of ‘fight and flight’. When this happens our body releases cortisol, the stress hormone.
WONDERING WHY YOU FEEL SO ANGRY & UPTIGHT SOMETIMES?
Often these emotions start with feeling stressed, which speeds up our breathing and automatically places our nervous system in ‘fight or flight’.
WONDERING WHY YOU CANT GET A PEACEFUL SLEEP?
Once again it can often be the result of too much cortisol (the stress hormone) in your system brought on by feeling stressed.
IT TAKES JUST TWO MINUTES TO REDUCE STRESS AND FEEL BETTER
Breathing deeply and consciously can take the body from feeling anxious to a state of ‘rest and digest’ in less than a couple of minutes. By restoring the depth and fullness of our breathing we control our nervous system and in doing so, we can reduce our stress levels very quickly.
There are also great long-term benefits to this. We spend more of our time in a calmer state, which enables feelings of mental clarity. By making us less reactive when things aren’t going the way we would like, we build our resilience. And when we practice it consistently, we start to breathe this way naturally and it becomes a stress management tool that lasts a lifetime.
living with stress
Stress is a modern day epidemic and no-one is immune.
The good news is that with the right tools we can reduce and manage the stress that comes with daily living
“Our skin never lies. It will show us the quality of food we are eating, the amount of water we are drinking, the way we are breathing, how much sleep we have had and the stress we are living with. If your face is a map of your life, your skin is a daily reminder of your stress levels and your lifestyle staring back at you.”

EVERYONE EXPERIENCES DAILY STRESS
Every day we all get up to fight the good fight
We rise to a challenge and take risks when we need to
We work hard and play hard
We learn from our mistakes and live life with no regrets
We love and we laugh
We know when to hold on and when to move on
We do what we need to get the job done
We accept that daily living comes with stress but we handle it
We won’t give up if we can still stand up
We think in terms of possibilities and push past our limitations
We look after ourselves and the skin we are in
We understand that our health is like gold and our choices reflect it
We make the most of who we are and strive to be our best
We know what matters in life and we treasure it
